VICTOR TULUTU BRIGGS FOUNDATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO 50 UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT STUDENTS

The Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation has fulfilled its promise by awarding scholarships to 50 deserving students of the University of Port Harcourt. The beneficiaries, selected from both undergraduate and postgraduate programs, were officially presented with their scholarship awards yesterday, October 28, 2024.

The scholarship awards were part of a commitment made during the maiden Youth Political Participation and Governance Training Programme, organized by the University of Port Harcourt’s Centre for Politics in collaboration with the Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation on the 17th of October 2024.

The event saw the attendance of key officers from the Foundation, including Barr. Mrs. Winnie O. Morganson (General Counsel), who represented the President, Hon. (Dr.) Victor Briggs, Mr. Jackson Allen, Secretary of the Foundation, and Mr. Richard Ogbonna, Rivers State Liaison Officer of the Foundation.

The scholarships cover the total school charges for the students and provide a stipend for their upkeep. The Management of the University and strategic partners commended the Foundation for its generous support, which will enable the students to pursue their academic dreams without financial hindrance.

The President of the Foundation, Hon. Victor Tubotamuno Briggs, through his representatives, emphasized the importance of hard work and diligence, reminding the students that “to whom much is given, much is expected.”

The event concluded with a call for continued prayers and support for the strategic partners and the University.

This initiative highlights the Foundation’s commitment to empowering the youth and fostering educational development in the region.
