University of Port Harcourt, in collaboration with the Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation, organizes its maiden Youth Political Participation and Governance Training Programme.
The epoch-making event was graced by the Vice Chancellor of the University, the revered Prof. Owunari Abraham Georgewill; the host, Prof. Fidelis Allen; the Director for the Center for Politics; President of Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation, Dr. Victor Tubotamuno Briggs; high ranking security personnel, etc.






The programme which took place at the CBN Centre of Excellence, Abuja-Park, University of Port Harcourt, on October 17, 2024, saw 50 participants cutting across the 23 Local Governments of Rivers State and the Non-indigene community.
The Programme is geared towards eradicating violence in the political space which will be championed by the youths.
The President of Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation, Dr. Victor Briggs, awarded scholarships to 50 persons, comprising undergraduate and post-graduate students.






The Vice chancellor a humanitarian and lover of education was very pleased to partner with the foundation and appreciated the President, Dr. Victor Briggs for his magnanimity as expressed in actions.



The participants showed their gratitude by promising to propagate the non-violence in politics messages as taught them by resource persons.
This is the beginning of greater collaboration by the University and the foundation for a progressive society.
