VTBF FORTIFIES DAY 6 OF 2025 BACK-2-SCHOOL PROJECT, EXTENDING REACH TO NIGERIAN ARMY AND THE NIGERIA POLICE

The Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation broadened its 2025 Back-2-School Project on Day 6, channelling support to four schools within key security institutions in Port Harcourt, reinforcing ties forged on the initiative’s opening day. Under the stewardship of the President, Hon. Victor Tubotamuno Briggs, the team distributed essential materials, while prioritizing the children of those who safeguard the state.

The morning commenced at Port Harcourt Barracks, home to the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, where the foundation’s delegation was accorded a warm reception by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, represented by the Commander, 106 Division Equipment Support, Brigadier General Effiong Nse; and the Chairperson of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) 6 Division Chapter, Mrs. Manfon Ejim-Emekah, represented by Mrs. Bilkisu Mustapha. This courtesy extended the project’s collaborative spirit, with school bags, exercise books, and stationery handed to pupils across three barracks-based schools: Command Children School, Army Day Primary School, and NAOWA Primary School.

True to the pledge made during the Day 1 courtesy call to the Rivers State Police Command, the team then proceeded to the Nigeria Police Force Rivers State Command for the long-awaited distribution at the Police Primary School. The event delivered the same core kits: school bags, exercise books, and stationery, to eager young learners. School administrators expressed deep gratitude for the fulfillment of the earlier commitment, noting how the supplies would bolster attendance and engagement in the upcoming weeks.

This strategic pivot on Day 6 builds seamlessly on prior security engagements, embedding the project within Rivers State’s protective framework. With three weekdays left to blanket the remaining LGAs, the distributions continue to alleviate back-to-school burdens for vulnerable families across the Niger Delta.
