Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, creativity and limitless potential of young people, not only in Nigeria, but across the world.
For many Nigerian youths, these are not easy times. The rising cost of living; limited economic opportunities, unemployment, insecurity and the daily struggle to build a decent life have placed enormous pressure on a generation with dreams as big as its aspirations.
Yet, we must not allow the difficulties of today to define the possibilities of tomorrow.
Nigerian youths have repeatedly demonstrated that even in the face of adversity, they can innovate, create businesses, lead movements, build communities and make their voices heard. From technology and entrepreneurship to the creative industries, agriculture, education and public service, our young people continue to prove that Nigeria’s greatest resource is not beneath the ground, it is within its people.
On this International Youth Day, our message is simple:
Do not give up on your dreams. Do not surrender your hope. And do not stop believing in the possibility of a better Nigeria.
But hope must go beyond words. Our young people deserve an economy that rewards hard work, an education system that prepares them for the future, opportunities to earn a dignified living, access to capital and skills, and a society where their voices are not merely heard but meaningfully included in decision-making.
The future of Nigeria cannot be built without Nigerian youths.
To every young Nigerian struggling to survive, pursuing a dream, building a business, searching for a job, learning a skill, creating something new or simply trying to make tomorrow better than today: we see you, we believe in you, and we stand with you.
The road may be difficult, but our story is not over.
Together, we can transform frustration into opportunity, challenges into innovation, and hope into action.
