VTBF EXPANDS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM TO IGNATIUS AJURU UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION AND RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY

In a significant move to support the educational aspirations of indigent students, the Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation (VTBF) has announced the expansion of its scholarship program to include students from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and Rivers State University (RSU).

On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, a delegation from the VTBF paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Okechukwu Onuchuku. The visit aimed to inform the Vice Chancellor of the foundation’s intention to award scholarships to deserving students from the university. The VTBF team was led by the Head of Corporate & Strategic Communications, Mr. Godwill Alaso Princewill, the Secretary, Mr. Jackson Allen, the General Counsel and Head of Legal Affairs, Barrister Winnie Morganson, and the Port Harcourt Liaison Manager, Elder Richard Ogbonna.

Professor Onuchuku warmly received the VTBF team and expressed his optimism about the potential collaboration. He highlighted the positive impact such scholarships would have on the students, the university, and the broader community. The Vice Chancellor emphasized that this partnership would yield significant academic results and contribute to the overall development of the beneficiaries.

This initiative follows the successful scholarship awards granted by the VTBF in 2024, where 50 undergraduate students from the University of Port Harcourt were selected as recipients. Inspired by the positive outcomes of that program, the VTBF has decided to replicate the initiative at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and Rivers State University.

The VTBF team is scheduled to visit Rivers State University next to finalize the details and commence the scholarship award process. The foundation is confident that this expansion will further its mission of empowering students through education and creating opportunities for those in need.

The Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation remains dedicated to its mission of providing educational support and fostering a culture of academic excellence. The foundation looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and Rivers State University and is excited about the positive impact this initiative will have on the lives of the students.
