Yesterday, the Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation successfully carried out its Petty Traders & Small-Scale Business Empowerment Initiative. The event, held at Abonnema, Headquarters of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State, Nigeria, saw a significant turnout of local entrepreneurs and small business owners eager to benefit from the foundation’s generous support packages.

The initiative aimed to uplift and empower various categories of small-scale business operators, including food vendors, artisans, salon owners, beauticians, P.O.S operators, and business centre owners. The foundation provided financial assistance in the form of grants, with N50,000 awarded to 100 beneficiaries and N20,000 to 50 beneficiaries.
In addition to the financial grants, the foundation also provided 10 employment slots for youths of the Abonnema community. Furthermore, the event served as an opportunity to launch the kick-off of free JAMB registration for 2,000 beneficiaries across Nigeria.

The event was a resounding success, with beneficiaries expressing their gratitude and excitement for the opportunities these funds and initiatives will provide.
The Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering economic growth and self-sufficiency within the communities.
