VTBF ENERGIZES DAY 4 OF 2025 BACK-2-SCHOOL PROJECT, UPLIFTING FIVE SCHOOLS ACROSS KHANA, GOKANA, AND ELEME LGAs

The Victor Tulutu Briggs Foundation charged ahead on Day 4 of its 2025 Back-2-School Project, fortifying educational access for pupils in five schools spanning three Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Rivers State: Eleme, Gokana, and Khana. Guided by the President, Hon. Victor Tubotamuno Briggs, the day’s distributions injected renewed vigor into communities, advancing the nine-weekday drive to encompass over 17 LGAs and underscore the foundation’s resolve against learning inequities in the Niger Delta.

The itinerary opened in Eleme LGA at State School 1, Ogale, where the foundation’s arrival sparked a ripple of anticipation among pupils and teachers. Laden with school bags, notebooks, and stationery, the team orchestrated a swift yet spirited handover at the school’s open field. Young learners, many from humble families, donned their new kits with pride, their enthusiasm palpable.

Pressing on to Gokana LGA, the delegation reached the Community Secondary School in K/Dere, Gokana, a hub for teenage scholars navigating transitional years. The distribution targeted students with educational essentials, fostering an atmosphere of focused excitement. Teachers recounted tales of resource scarcity hindering progress, now alleviated.

The finale unfolded in Khana LGA’s Gwara community, a multifaceted visit empowering three institutions in a coordinated push: the Bua-Nama Community Secondary School (UBE Section), alongside Community Primary Schools 1 and 2. This clustered outreach maximized impact, reaching primaries with foundational tools, while secondary recipients gained advanced kits for deeper studies. Amid Gwara’s verdant backdrop, children paraded their hauls in a joyous procession, blending primary innocence with secondary determination.

These engagements at State School 1 Ogale, Community Secondary School K/Dere, and the Gwara trio in Khana not only tallied five vital interventions but also amplified the project’s ethos of layered, community-rooted empowerment. From Day 1’s security partnerships to today’s rural-urban blend, the initiative’s trajectory promises widespread transformation.
